It's installed but doesn't cache anything

Installed on PFsense 123 . The videocache log is empty

I have banged my head for days with this and gotten no where fast.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Alan,

Please check all the relevant directories have correct permissions. /var/log/videocache/ /var/spool/videocache/ should have ownership proxy:proxy and should be writable by squid user (proxy for pfsense).

ls -l /var/log/videocache/
total 0

I ran this code once from a guide on installing VC (ln -s /dev/null /var/log/videocache/videocache.log)

# ls -l /var/spool/videocache/
total 30

Please try removing the link. Then look for error messages in videocache.log file.

That's the problem I have no clue how to remove the link ?
My unix training is limited, And I find trial and error makes it worse.

I think I need to remove everything to do with the videocache install and start over. When I put top in the shell I see to pid"s for python. Is this normal?
