Hi
i just wonder if 60GB is a normal size of video cache log file ??
i put 10 in the videocache log file size field in the config file ..
15 Answers
now its 135GByte !!!!! is it normal ????????????
why the 10 Mbyte doesn't applied to the videocache log file ?
what will be after 2 days ?
should i prepare another hard system of 10 Terabytes just to put the endless log file in it ??
Anonymous,
Its not normal at all. You can remove the log files for now. I'll try to fix it in next version.
Thank you for the patience.
yeap, this happen to me, and... when the log is toooo big, the cachevideos stops working, no matter if you restart the squid, you have to delete the log for it to work again.
Sirkike,
I know where is the problem. Actually the logfiles are rotated only when we restart squid and they are not rotated regularly. I'll fix it in next version.
Thank You!
I believe that the log is rotated the squid restart whether or not, in my case ... not restart the squid never takes more than 180 days before restarting..
restarting squid , restarting debian , restarting everything would never rotate the log , never ..
its 280MB now !!!!!!!!!!!
do we need the log file ?
can we just forbid its creation ?
can we tell the config file like in squid : cache.log = none ??
Anon,
I'll try to include that option in the new version that is going to be released very soon. Have patience.
Thank you for the suggestion.
Hi

Anonymous,
It should have been rotated by the videocache. You can delete the old logs if you want.
Videocache cleaner doesn't clean the logs. It cleans only the unused videos.
Thank You!
its not rotated at all !!!!
the config file is OK , no problem with the settings ..
i know vcleaner is cleaning unused video , but its not cleaning at all !!
thanks alot
Anonymous,
The videocache cleaner activities are logged into /var/log/videocache/vcclear.log file. Please check that for details about cleanup.
Thank You!
