Scalability of Videocache
by cygnus on 4 Nov 2009 Hi! Has someone some clues how stable videocache works and how videocache scales? Currently I am evaluating it for two Squid 3 servers (Dual Xeon 3,2 GHz Blade machines) with 4 Gig ram serving about 4500 users. Any users out there using videocache with so many or perhaps more users? Feedback would be appreciated. Greetings Torge13 Answers

by cygnus on 4 Nov 2009 Hello! I always receive a: SCHEDULED_ERR - Could not schedule video for download in every request. System is Debian Lenny. Cache Dir is writeable by videocache. df -h|grep spool 179G 89M 179G 1% /var/spool/squid3 99G 188M 94G 1% /var/spool/videocache Has anyone used videocache in a large deployment? Thx, i'm not really an expert in this, so i'm gonna install it in a ubuntu server, i read that works really good in that distro.3 Answers

by vincentavelino on 24 Oct 2009 Hi Admin, i seemed to have done setting up videocache but i always see this "DOWNLOAD_ERR YOUTUBE An error occured while retrieving the video" in my /var/log/videocache/videocache.log. what seemed to be causing this? i can't see any CACHE HIT but URL HIT instead Please help. cannot retrieve cached video with lighttpd
by johnmelond on 2 Oct 2009 Hi, I am new to cachevideo however i am able to install and cache youtube with permission of squid user & group but not able to retrieve via web.I have check forum and try to browse http://localhost/videocache I was failed to get output. permission of videocache is drwxr-xr-x 17 squid squid 512 Oct 2 12:45 videocache if i change permission i can able to get output via web but in this case i can't download and cached.
