CacheHIT and cachevideo

I want to mark the traffic HIT of my squid, i have TOS then is HIT from squid, but i want to know if there any way to detect the hit from videocache: CACHE_HIT YOUTUBE Video was served from cache. I want to detect when the video is hit with layer7 or iptables Rergards Max

Bogus files in tmp dir

by lferreira on 23 Feb 2009 With the usage of cachevideo i've been noticing that some videos that cachevideo is unable to download stay in ther with filesize 0 bytes. Is it possible to fix the problem, our i've to manualy remove the blank ones?

Videoache will download the same youtube movie twice

by imriz on 21 Feb 2009 Hi, Due to a recent change in youtube, the video_id in the first request (to the get_video script), and the videoid in the resulting redirect are different, which makes videocache download them both. I suggest changing the recommended regex in squid.conf to reject google's cache servers.

Video cache doesn't care about video quality

by imriz on 21 Feb 2009 Hi, Some videos in youtube has two versions - low quality and high quality. videocache will cache the first version requested. I suggest breaking the youtube cache dir into more subdirs per quality.

Videocache 2.0 Wishlist

by Kulbir Saini on 21 Feb 2009 We want Videocache 2.0 to be free from normal bugs like XMLRPC, hang ups, TIME_WAIT sockets etc... We'll not go directly to version 2.0 from 1.9. We'll be releasing version numbered as 1.9.x (so next version will be 1.9.1) and will try to fix as many bugs as possible. Also, we'll try to include almost every feature requested by users. I have created this thread to discuss what we want to see in Videocache 2.0. Please reply with your suggestions on different components of videocache.

XMLRPC Server stability

Following your advice (in a post on this forum) I changed url_rewrite_children from 20 to 10. DOWNLOAD_ERR problems

by Anonymous on 18 Feb 2009 Hello. I have a new Ubuntu install using iptable and transparent proxy I have videocache installed but I keep seeing DOWNLOAD_ERR in the logs. I checked and i do not see port 9100 responding on the server on tcp or udp My iptables rule is the following /sbin/iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 3128 Is there anything I should be adding to get the downloads to work?
