Software Dependencies

VideoCache requires following software to run on your system. Though most of these software are already included in most of the standard Linux distributions, you need to make sure that these are present. If anything is missing, VideoCache installer will point it out during installation. Also, some software are required during installation only and not during runtime. Below is a list.

1. Installation Dependencies
   • bash shell
   • wget
   • tar
   • gcc (c compiler)
2. Runtime Dependencies (Software)
   • Python (2.5 or later) but not 3.x
   • Squid Proxy Server (2.6.STABLE21 or later)
   • MySQL (5.x)
   • Apache Web Server
3. Runtime Dependencies (Python Modules)
   • setuptools
   • iniparse
   • netifaces
   • ctypes
   • multiprocessing
