Force video resoution
by raytaylor on 14 May 2011 Is there a way to force video cache to only download youtube videos at 480p or lower? I have noticed it seems to always download the highest quality setting avaliable for the video, and then feeds it to the viewer no matter what setting they choose. Many of my network customers are on 512kbit plans that are not fast enough to support 720p video. But they are quite happy watching a video at 360p or 480p. Setup linux+video cache
by raytaylor on 13 May 2011 I am new to linux and dont know much about it. I am however a very expierenced windows server technician. So I dont understand things like sudo or tarballs. Is there a guide that covers setting up linux, squid and videocache from scratch? I can follow a guide with commands to type and have successfully setup squid on windows, but i couldnt get youtube caching to work. YouTube video Streaming

The videos are cached successfully but when I tried to open a video again from different PC on slow internet connection like 1 M link the streaming is so slow, even slower than to play it directly from YouTube without caching.
